Downloading ForestWatch Data to Your PDA.

1. Goto the TeleNature server and request the file for the location you are going to by going to this URL and following the instructions, http://www.isrl.uiuc.edu/~telenature/surveydata.
2. Enter the forest site identifier and date then press enter. You will see a text file with forestwatch information.
3. Use your web browser to copy the file. On the browser's menu bar select "file" then "save as". Save the file anywhere on your PC. We recommend a directory called "TeleNature" so that you can find it again.
4. We are working on a methods that will automatically format the file for you PDA but for now you will need to run translation program (conduit) yourself. Click on the conduit icon. Enter the file name where you stored the file. The program will place the proper file in your HotSync directory.
5. HotSync your PDA and the data will be available for the TeleNature programs to use.

Uploading ForestWatch data to the TeleNature Server

1. Move your files from your PDA to your PC by using your synchronization program, HotSync. Follow the instructions that come with your PALM. Usually you will just need to plug you PDA into the docking station and press the synchronization button.
2. Run the telenature upload program. Enter your TeleNature login ID and password when prompted.
