One contains records from 5 different collections at Western New Mexico University (bird, fish, herbarium, herpetology and mammal localities). The number of records per file varies between a couple hundred to, I think, about 4-6,000. The second contains a file with the localities for just over 70,000 UNM herbarium records (I think). All of the data are from New Mexico (or are supposed to be). In all of these files, the records are for specimens, not localities, so the number of localities will be less. All of these data were entered into and exported from the same database management system (Maii'tsoh) that we use here in NM. All of these files are csv with column headers in the first row. There are many more fields than you probably need, but in the interest of getting them to you ASAP, I hope that you have the tools to edit these to what you need. The fields are: RecID Catalog Number Country State Location Township Range Section TRS Text [holds info at finer scale than Section] Latitude [formatted with degree, minute, and second marks] Longitude [formatted with degree, minute, and second marks] Lat Calculated [translated from the Lat/Long fields to decimal degrees] Long Calculated [translated from the Lat/Long fields to decimal degrees] LatLong Datum UTM N UTM E UTM Z Elev Text [holds text values like "about" or "approximately" that are prepended to numerical elevations] Elevation [number field] Elev Units [either m or ft] Lat Degrees Lat Minutes Lat Seconds Lat Direction [N or S] Long Degrees Long Minutes Long Seconds Long Direction [E or W] TRSinvalid [a marker that the township range section info doesn't make sense as entered (as in when only a township is entered); a "1" means the TRS are bad] LatLonginvalid [Lat/long doesn't make sense for some reason; a "1" means the latlong are bad] LatLong NotinState [the state is given as "New Mexico" but the latlong coordinates put it outside the state.
